FOR NANNIES

FAQs

What is the benefit in registering with Exclusive Nannies?

We are an up-and-coming nanny agency which specialises in delivering the best service to the clients and nannies alike. We have deep understanding of the in-home childcare industry and strive to move the standard higher. Exclusive Nannies isn’t only matching clients and nannies. We are passionate about improving our nannies’ knowledge, skills and experience. One of our team members is always available to speak with you about any of your needs, questions or ideas. We offer workshops and social events for nannies to help them to expand their nanny network.

Is it free to register?

Yes! It’s completely free for nannies to register.

What are the registration requirements?

We are happy to register anyone who is an Australian citizen or a valid visa holder and is over 18 years of age, has 2+ years of childcare experience, at least two checkable references from previous childcare employments, First Aid certificate, National Police Check, Working with Children Check and a current childcare related resume. You don’t have to have a driver’s licence but it is a bonus as it will increase your chance of employment.
What if I do not fit all the requirements?
In such case, please contact our office and we will discuss your options. We don’t want to turn anyone down especially when they are passionate about being a nanny. If there is anything we can do to improve your skills we will do our best to help.

What is the registration process?

If you tick all the boxes in our checklist, you will need to fill in our Online Registration Form and submit it with copies of all the relevant certificates, photo IDs, references and your resume. One of our lovely staff will contact you to arrange a face to face (or Skype) interview with you to get to know you better, and to discuss what exactly you would like to do. We aim to deliver a tailored service that matches everyone’s requirements as closely as possible. After a successful interview we will add you to our database and contact you when a new job becomes available. You will also receive a welcome pack with all sorts of important information regarding working as a nanny. Depending on your preferred contact method (email or SMS), we will send you all available positions or contact you directly via phone should a client request you specifically. We will then set up an interview for you. If everything goes well, we will help you with setting up a start date and contract. It is however up to you and the client what you will negotiate to be your duties and wage. We can advise you and the client, but the final decision is up to you and them.

Do I have to get insurance?

It is not a must but we strongly advise that you get Public Liability insurance, and your employer will be advised to get a Workers Compensation insurance as well. You never know what can happen and it’s good to have the peace of mind about the financial strain following a possible accident or injury.
We recommend using NannySure which is a public liability insurance company, specialising in nanny and domestic workers’ covers. For information please visit www.nannysure.com.au

Will you help me prepare for the interview?

Of course we will! As a part of your welcome pack you will receive information about how to prepare for an interview and a lot of other useful information. We are also happy to assist you with specific areas and answer your questions. Just contact our office.

Does the agency provide any workshops for nannies?

Yes! We provide first aid courses just for our nannies which are fun and a great way to get to know more people while learning important and useful skills.

We also run social events and childcare oriented training for our nannies to give you more ideas you can use while working with children – from nutritional advice, cooking classes, child development, arts and craft, and other types of workshops that are entertaining and educational. If you have a suggestion of a workshop you would like to attend, please contact our office. We are always open to new ideas.

What if the family makes a booking directly with me without using the agency?

When a client whom you have been referred to by Exclusive Nannies contacts you directly, you must let the agency know as soon as possible. Direct booking between a client and a nanny without the agency’s knowledge is strictly prohibited and could result in the client’s and nanny’s removal form our database.

How many families can I work for?

You can work for as many families as you like as long as it doesn’t interfere with your work commitments and time management. For example, it is fine to be working for 2 families on a part time basis (as long as the days do not overlap) and do occasional babysitting for other families outside your work hours. However, you must make sure you’re well rested for all your day jobs!
